Bandits Kill Five Forest Guards in Kwara Attack, Operate for Hours Unchallenged
Armed bandits have killed five forest guards and destroyed property during a pre-dawn attack on Nuku village in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The attack reportedly occurred around 3:00 a.m. on Friday, when heavily armed assailants stormed the community and operated for several hours without resistance, according to local sources.
Residents said the gunmen targeted forest guards stationed in the area before setting parts of the village ablaze and looting property, leaving widespread destruction in their wake.
The prolonged nature of the assault has raised concerns among community members over the absence or delayed response of security forces, as the attackers were said to have moved freely during the operation.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement confirming the incident, but security efforts are expected to be intensified in the area to prevent further attacks.
The incident underscores growing fears over the spread of banditry into parts of north-central Nigeria, as armed groups increasingly target rural communities and security personnel with little resistance.
