Nigeria’s President Arrives in Kenya for Africa–France Summit
Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Kenya to participate in the Africa–France Summit, a high-level diplomatic gathering focused on investment, innovation, climate action, and regional economic cooperation.

The summit, co-hosted by France and Kenya and scheduled for May 11–12 in Nairobi, brings together African heads of state, business leaders, and international partners to discuss strategies for sustainable development, infrastructure financing, energy transition, and digital transformation.
The event is jointly led by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, and forms part of France’s broader effort to reshape its engagement with Africa through what it describes as a “renewed partnership” model.
Tinubu’s participation reflects Nigeria’s push to deepen foreign investment ties and expand economic cooperation with both African and global partners amid ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening growth and stability.
The summit also comes at a time when France is seeking to reinforce its influence across Africa following setbacks in parts of West Africa, shifting focus toward East and Anglophone African states.
Alongside political discussions, the summit is expected to feature investment announcements from major global companies and development finance institutions targeting infrastructure, energy, and technology sectors across Africa.
Further bilateral meetings are expected on the sidelines, where leaders will discuss trade, climate resilience, and regional security cooperation.
