Afrobeat Singer Davido Urges Global Attention to Osun Governorship Election
Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has called on United States President Donald Trump and the international community to closely monitor the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.

With the election scheduled for August 15, concerns have emerged over potential political violence and security challenges in some parts of the state. Civil society organisations and election observers have urged stakeholders to take measures to safeguard voters and promote a peaceful electoral process.
In a statement shared on his official X account, Davido appealed for greater attention to the election and called for measures to ensure that voters can participate safely and freely. He also stressed the importance of a transparent and credible process.

Davido’s intervention comes as his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, seeks a second term in office. The election is expected to attract significant political attention, with security agencies and other stakeholders under pressure to prevent violence and protect the integrity of the vote.
