Court Grants ₦100 Million Bail to Former Governor
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has approved bail for former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in the sum of ₦100 million.

Delivering the ruling on Monday, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik outlined strict conditions for the bail, including the provision of one surety with an equivalent financial standing. The court specified that the surety must reside in either Maitama or Asokoro and present a valid Certificate of Occupancy for a landed property, which will be held by the court.
The surety is also required to be a federal civil servant not below Grade Level 17 and must provide proof of salary payments for at least three months. In addition, a verification letter from the surety’s bank manager within the court’s jurisdiction must be submitted.
As part of the conditions, the former governor has been directed to surrender all valid international passports to the court. He is also required to provide a letter of attestation from the Chairman of the Kaduna State Traditional Council.
The case is expected to continue as further proceedings are scheduled.
