‘Dai Dai’: Shakira and Burna Boy Reach 1 Billion YouTube Views
Colombian superstar Shakira and Nigerian Afrobeats singer Burna Boy have reached another major global milestone as their hit collaboration, “Dai Dai,” surpasses one billion views on YouTube.

The music video crossed the landmark less than four months after its release, having been published on May 23, 2026. YouTube tracking data shows the video has now passed the one-billion-view mark.
“Dai Dai” was released as the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, bringing together Shakira’s Latin-pop sound and Burna Boy’s Afrobeats influence. The collaboration quickly became one of the tournament’s biggest musical successes.
The song has also delivered major chart milestones. Billboard reported that “Dai Dai” became Shakira’s first No. 1 on the Rhythmic Airplay chart, while the track also led the Billboard Global 200.
For Shakira, the billion-view milestone adds another record to her already extensive YouTube history. Reports say “Dai Dai” is her 10th music video to surpass one billion views, placing her among only a handful of female artists to reach that figure.
For Burna Boy, the achievement further underscores the global reach of Afrobeats and his growing presence on the international stage.
The song’s success has extended beyond YouTube. In July, Burna Boy became the first male artist to top Spotify’s newly launched Global Music Video Chart, with “Dai Dai” reaching the number-one position.
The billion-view achievement places the Shakira-Burna Boy collaboration among the most successful World Cup-linked music releases of recent years, while further cementing both artists’ influence across global music markets.
