Dangote Extends Refinery IPO by 10 Days Amid Strong Investor Interest

Aliko Dangote has announced a 10-day extension of the initial public offering (IPO) of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals, giving prospective investors additional time to participate in the share sale.

The offer, which opened on September 14, was initially scheduled to close on October 13, 2026. It comprises 4.1 billion ordinary shares priced at ₦525 each, with a minimum subscription of 10 shares costing ₦5,250.

The extension comes amid strong investor interest in the public offer, which aims to raise approximately ₦2.15 trillion, or about $1.6 billion, if fully subscribed.

The refinery’s IPO is designed to broaden public ownership of one of Africa’s largest industrial projects, allowing eligible investors to acquire a stake in the business.

Dangote has previously described the offering as an opportunity to make wealth creation more accessible to ordinary Nigerians, while the refinery’s management has targeted millions of retail investors.

The revised closing date and any changes to the official offer timetable should be confirmed through the refinery’s official channels and approved receiving agents before investors submit applications.
