Defence Minister Rates Tinubu Government 70% on Security
Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa, has rated the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu between 65 and 70 percent in addressing the country’s security challenges, according to verified reports.

Speaking during an interview on ARISE News to mark the administration’s third anniversary, Musa said the government had made measurable progress, particularly in reducing large-scale terrorist activities across the country.
He noted that terrorism has been “drastically reduced”, though incidents such as kidnappings and banditry persist in some regions.
The minister explained that no country is entirely free from crime, stating that the rating reflects both progress and ongoing challenges.
Musa also attributed insecurity partly to social factors, including breakdowns in family structures and the pursuit of quick wealth, which he said contribute to kidnapping and banditry.
Despite the positive assessment, Nigeria continues to face significant security threats, including:
School abductions across multiple states
Reports indicate that hundreds of students have been abducted in recent years, underscoring persistent vulnerabilities despite military efforts.
