Empowering Women, Youths Key to Nigeria’s Agricultural Future – Remi Tinubu
Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has stressed the importance of equipping women and young Nigerians with modern agricultural skills, tools and opportunities to strengthen food security and secure the future of the country’s agriculture sector.

Tinubu made the remarks while commending the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security for launching the Agri360 Mechanisation Training Initiative, which targets 5,000 women and youths across Nigeria.
The initiative is designed to provide participants with practical skills in agricultural mechanisation, including tractor assembly, operation and maintenance, as well as opportunities linked to modern agribusiness.
The First Lady said greater access to technology and practical training would help women and young people participate more effectively in agriculture while supporting efforts to improve food production.
The programme comes amid ongoing efforts by the Nigerian government to modernise agriculture, reduce dependence on traditional farming methods and address challenges affecting food security.
With agriculture employing a significant share of Nigeria’s population, supporters of mechanisation initiatives say expanding access to equipment and technical skills could improve productivity while creating new employment opportunities for young Nigerians. If you want, I can also turn this into a .shorter 40–50 second TV news script
