JAMB to Release First 2026 UTME Results Today

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is expected to begin releasing results for candidates who sat the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) today.

JAMB to Release First 2026 UTME Results Today

The 2026 UTME commenced on April 16 and is being conducted in batches nationwide, with results typically released within 24 to 48 hours after each exam session.

JAMB has maintained its system of staggered result release, meaning candidates who wrote on the opening day are among the first to receive their scores, while others will follow as the examination progresses.

Candidates can check their results primarily via SMS by sending “UTMERESULT” to the designated shortcodes using the phone number linked to their registration. Online access through the official portal is usually enabled shortly after initial releases.

The board has advised candidates not to panic if their results are not immediately available, noting that scores are released in batches after verification and quality checks.

The UTME remains Nigeria’s primary entrance examination into tertiary institutions, with results valid for one academic session.
