Kenya Records Third Ebola Case as Health Authorities Intensify Surveillance
Kenya has confirmed its third Ebola case, raising concerns about the potential spread of the virus as health authorities intensify surveillance and contact tracing. The latest patient, a 65-year-old woman, tested positive while in quarantine, while one patient has died and two others remain under medical care.

Health officials have traced 127 people who may have been exposed to the virus and screened more than 685,000 travellers as part of efforts to detect infections early and prevent further transmission. The measures are aimed at identifying potential cases and containing the outbreak before it spreads into the wider population.
Despite the additional infection, authorities say there is currently no evidence of community transmission. They have also maintained that the public health risk remains low, pointing to ongoing monitoring and containment measures.
The confirmation highlights the importance of quarantine, early detection and effective contact tracing in controlling infectious disease outbreaks. Health authorities continue to monitor identified contacts and strengthen surveillance to prevent further infections.
