Plateau Files Charges Against Five DSS-Arrested Suspects in Angwa-Rukuba Killings
The Plateau State Government has filed formal charges against five suspects arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) in connection with the deadly Angwa-Rukuba killings in Jos North Local Government Area.

The suspects are facing multiple charges including criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, illegal possession of firearms, and alleged involvement in terrorism-related offences linked to the March 2026 attack that left several residents dead.
According to court filings, the suspects were apprehended between April 3 and April 10 following coordinated security operations involving intelligence-led tracking and surveillance. Prosecutors say the accused persons played various roles in planning and facilitating the attack.
The case has been filed by the State Attorney General, who described the offences as serious violations under Plateau State law, with emphasis on terrorism-related provisions and unlawful possession of arms.
The Angwa-Rukuba incident, which occurred in Jos North, is one of several violent episodes that have intensified security concerns in Nigeria’s Plateau State in recent months. Security agencies have continued investigations aimed at identifying additional suspects and possible sponsors of the attack.
Authorities say the prosecution is part of broader efforts to ensure accountability and deter future violence in the region, while reinforcing ongoing security operations in affected communities.
The suspects are expected to appear before the court as proceedings formally begin.
