Police Detain Man Over Alleged Impersonation of Government Agency Director in Osun
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Osun State have arrested a man accused of posing as the head of a federal government–related agency.

The suspect, identified as Adeniyi Adeyemi, was apprehended following a bench warrant issued by a Federal High Court in Abuja. Security sources indicated that the warrant prompted a swift operation by the Force Intelligence Response Team (IRT).
Adeyemi was reportedly tracked and arrested at a location within Osun State by the IRT, a specialised police unit deployed from Abuja to carry out the operation.
The Osun State Police Command confirmed the arrest, noting that the suspect was taken into custody without incident. Authorities also stated that plans are underway to transfer him to the Federal Capital Territory for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Police officials said the case forms part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on impersonation and related offences, particularly those involving false claims of holding public office.
