Residents Repel Bandits in Katsina, Forcing Retreat
Residents in parts of Katsina State have reportedly repelled an attempted incursion by suspected bandits, forcing the attackers to retreat after locals blocked entry into their community.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that the residents mobilised quickly upon receiving intelligence of the approaching assailants, setting up barriers and coordinating efforts to prevent access.
The show of resistance is said to have disrupted the bandits’ plans, prompting them to withdraw without carrying out an attack.
Security officials have yet to release a detailed statement on the incident, but local authorities have commended the vigilance of residents while urging them to continue cooperating with security agencies.
Katsina remains one of several northwestern states grappling with banditry, with communities increasingly adopting local defence measures alongside formal security operations.
