RwandAir Takes Top Spot for Airline Staff Service in Africa
RwandAir has been recognised for the quality of its passenger service after being named Africa’s Best Airline Staff at the 2026 World Airline Awards. The award, based on passenger feedback, places the Rwandan carrier at the top of the continent’s staff-service category, covering the experience passengers receive from frontline airline employees both at airports and onboard.

The recognition was announced at the World Airline Awards in London on September 18, following Skytrax’s annual passenger satisfaction survey. The 2026 results were drawn from travellers across more than 100 nationalities and covered more than 300 airlines, making the staff-service award a reflection of passenger experiences across a broad international audience.
RwandAir’s performance, however, was not uniform across the wider African rankings. The airline placed fifth among Africa’s best airlines, behind Ethiopian Airlines, Egyptair, Air Mauritius and Royal Air Maroc. It also finished second behind Royal Air Maroc in the Best Regional Airline in Africa category.
The latest results highlight customer service as a particular strength for RwandAir as it competes with some of Africa’s largest carriers. The airline had ranked second in Africa for staff service in 2025, when Egyptair held the top position, making this year’s result a rise to the top of the category.
