Government Sanctions China, Hong Kong Entities Over Iran Weapons Links
United States has imposed sanctions on multiple individuals and entities, including several based in China and Hong Kong, over their alleged involvement in supporting Iran’s weapons procurement network.

According to U.S. authorities, the sanctions target about 11 individuals and entities accused of facilitating the supply of weapons and related materials to Iran’s military, particularly the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Officials say those sanctioned were part of networks helping Iran acquire military equipment and operate financial channels used to support its defense activities.
The measures, implemented through the U.S. Treasury, are designed to disrupt Iran’s international weapons supply chains and limit its access to global financial systems.
The action is part of a broader pressure campaign by Washington aimed at curbing Iran’s military capabilities, particularly amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
Analysts note that targeting China- and Hong Kong-based entities reflects U.S. concerns over the role of international networks in sustaining Iran’s weapons programs, even as geopolitical tensions continue to escalate.
