Government Signs Deal with Boeing for 10 New Aircraft
President Yoweri Museveni has witnessed the signing of an agreement between state-owned Uganda Airlines and U.S. planemaker Boeing for the acquisition of 10 new aircraft, according to verified reports.

The deal, confirmed in recent reports, includes both passenger and cargo aircraft and is valued at approximately $984 million (about 3.7 trillion Ugandan shillings).
Officials say the fleet expansion is expected to boost trade, tourism, and investment, while positioning Uganda as a growing regional aviation hub in East Africa.
The agreement marks a significant step in Uganda’s broader strategy to strengthen its national carrier and expand connectivity, as the airline continues efforts to scale operations and compete within Africa’s aviation market.
