Ronaldo Closes in on 1,000 Goals After Historic 977th Strike
Cristiano Ronaldo moved another step closer to the 1,000-goal milestone after scoring his 977th career goal as Al-Nassr began the new Saudi Pro League season with a 4-0 victory over Al-Diriyah on Friday.

The 41-year-old Portugal forward started the match on the bench but needed just 21 minutes after coming on to find the net. He completed Al-Nassr’s scoring in the 83rd minute, adding another landmark to an already record-breaking career.
The goal also extended Ronaldo’s scoring run across 25 consecutive seasons, making him the first footballer to achieve the feat. His latest strike leaves him 23 goals short of the much-anticipated 1,000-goal mark, a target that could become one of the defining achievements of his career.
Ronaldo has scored for Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al-Nassr and Portugal during a career spanning more than two decades. With the Portuguese still finding the net regularly in Saudi Arabia, attention will now turn to how quickly he can close the remaining gap to 1,000 goals.
