Train Services from Tehran to Mashhad Suspended After U.S. Strikes
Passenger train services between Tehran and Mashhad have been suspended following recent U.S. strikes that damaged sections of Iran’s railway infrastructure, according to state media reports.

Officials said the suspension was ordered after parts of the rail line were hit during the attacks, raising safety concerns and forcing authorities to halt operations until further notice.
The Tehran–Mashhad corridor is one of Iran’s busiest rail routes, linking the capital with the country’s second-largest city and a major religious and economic hub. Disruptions to the line are expected to significantly affect civilian travel and logistics.
The development comes amid escalating hostilities between the United States and Iran, with Washington launching a new wave of airstrikes targeting multiple sites, including transport infrastructure.
Iran has condemned the attacks and warned of retaliation, while regional tensions continue to rise following the collapse of a fragile ceasefire agreement.
The Tehran–Mashhad rail line is a critical domestic route, carrying thousands of passengers daily. Infrastructure damage to transport networks has become a growing concern as the conflict increasingly affects civilian systems, including roads, bridges, and railways.
