Authorities Investigates Suspected Ebola Case, Tests Ongoing
Authorities in Brazil are investigating a suspected case of Ebola, not two confirmed cases as earlier suggested.

According to Reuters, the case involves a man who recently traveled from the Democratic Republic of Congo, where an active Ebola outbreak is ongoing. He presented with symptoms including fever and has since been placed in isolation at a specialized hospital in São Paulo.
Health officials say laboratory tests are underway, and Ebola has not yet been confirmed. Authorities have activated precautionary protocols, including monitoring and containment measures.
Separate reports linked to the global outbreak indicate that other suspected cases outside Africa—including Brazil—have so far tested positive for different illnesses such as malaria or meningitis, with Ebola still being ruled out.
The investigation comes amid a wider Ebola outbreak in Central Africa, particularly in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which has recorded hundreds of suspected and confirmed cases.
Officials emphasize that the situation in Brazil remains under investigation with no confirmed Ebola case, and the overall risk to the public is currently considered low.
