Celine Dion Makes Emotional Return to Stage in Paris
Canadian music superstar Céline Dion has made her long-awaited return to the stage, performing her first full concert in more than six years at a sold-out arena near Paris.
The 58-year-old singer opened her new Paris residency on Saturday at the Plenitude Arena in Nanterre, drawing about 30,000 fans for an emotional comeback after years away from live performance.
Dion, who was diagnosed in 2022 with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that causes severe muscle stiffness and spasms, had been forced to step away from touring while managing the condition.
She became visibly emotional during the opening moments of the concert before going on to perform some of her biggest hits, including “My Heart Will Go On,” “Because You Loved Me” and “All By Myself.”
The Paris residency marks a major milestone in Dion’s return to live music. Her official website lists a series of performances in Paris through October, with additional shows planned in 2027.
Dion had previously made a surprise return to the global stage at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she performed from the Eiffel Tower, but Saturday’s concert marked her first full concert since her health battle forced her extended absence.
The comeback has been widely celebrated by fans, with her return viewed as both a major moment in music and a personal triumph following years of health challenges.
