Former President Obtains Presidential Nomination Form Ahead of 2027

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Sani, has claimed that former President Goodluck Jonathan has obtained a presidential nomination form ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Sani, a former Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to ex-Vice President Namadi Sambo, made the disclosure during an appearance on Trust TV on Tuesday.

He stated that Jonathan’s action reflects growing political interest in the forthcoming election, noting that the purchase of nomination forms is a formal requirement for aspirants.

According to him, ongoing legal challenges questioning Jonathan’s eligibility to contest the presidency would not succeed, as the matter has already been settled by competent courts.

Sani further alleged that the former president is preparing to formally submit the nomination documents, adding that he continues to enjoy significant public support.
