Lagos to Host Two-Day African Fashion and Music Festival in December
Africa Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN) will combine runway showcases, designer exhibitions and live entertainment in Lagos this December, as organisers expand the event into a broader celebration of African creativity.

Scheduled for December 12 and 13, the 2026 edition will feature a fashion showcase at the J. Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History, followed by a festival and designer meet-and-greet at 9 Fola Osibo, Lekki. Organisers said the identity of a celebrity DJ expected to perform at the festival would be announced later.
The event, themed “Africa Now: The Future Wears Africa,” will also feature a series of activities beginning December 7, including a fashion and music business workshop, free Adire training for young people, a creator workshop and a brunch for influencers.
Designers are expected to present collections highlighting the diversity of African fashion, while the accompanying festival will create opportunities for attendees to interact with designers beyond the runway.
According to the organisers, the expanded programme aims to connect fashion with entrepreneurship, cultural heritage and digital creativity, while providing a platform for emerging talent and established designers to engage wider audiences.
The event comes as African fashion continues to attract international attention, with Lagos preparing to host another December gathering centred on the continent’s style, music and creative industries.
