Police Caution Worshippers Against Revealing Personal Achievements During Church Testimonies
The Nigeria Police Force has cautioned worshippers against disclosing sensitive personal information during church testimonies, warning that details about their achievements and financial progress could expose them to criminal attacks. The warning followed the arrest of four church members over an alleged plot to kidnap a female cleric, Prophetess Elizabeth, in Abuja after she reportedly spoke about her achievements during a testimony.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Intelligence Response Team, Adamu Muazu, gave the warning on Thursday while presenting the suspects to the public. He said the alleged kidnappers planned to attack the cleric after an evening service, raising concerns about the safety of worshippers, particularly those attending churches in isolated locations.
Muazu expressed concern that people could face threats from individuals they trusted, noting that some of the suspects allegedly had close ties to the intended victim and the church leadership. He identified one suspect as the cleric’s driver and another as a bodyguard to the head pastor, stressing the need for worshippers to exercise caution even within familiar religious communities.
The police officer urged church leaders to strengthen security around their premises, especially during evening services, and ensure that members have safe routes in and out of their places of worship. He also advised congregations to take necessary precautions when sharing personal information publicly, while encouraging religious institutions in remote areas to prioritise the safety of their members.
