Police Rescue Kidnap Victim After Gunfight With Kidnappers in Edo
The Edo State Police Command has rescued a 32-year-old man, Oboharekpe Muhammed David, who was abducted by armed men in Etsako West Local Government Area of the state.

David was reportedly taken from Ibienafe Village in the South-Ibie area on August 20, prompting the police to launch a search operation involving other security agencies. The operation focused on combing surrounding forest areas where the kidnappers were believed to be holding the victim.
According to the police, the security team encountered the suspected kidnappers in the forest, leading to an exchange of gunfire. The attackers reportedly fled after being confronted by the security operatives, abandoning the victim as they escaped into the surrounding bush.
The rescued man was subsequently taken to safety, while security operatives continued efforts to locate and arrest the fleeing suspects. The police said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to disrupt kidnapping activities and strengthen security across vulnerable communities in the state.
